كيف تتعامل مع الموسم اللي تنزل فيه المبيعات

1. Is it normal for sales to decline during certain seasons?
Of course, it's normal. Every merchant in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere experiences periods of activity and periods of stagnation. Some seasons, such as Ramadan or the end of the year, bring more spending, but other times, activity slows down, whether due to school, travel, or even market fluctuations.
There's nothing wrong with sales declining; the problem is that you're not prepared!
2. Identify Your Slow Seasons
First of all, you need to know when your sales typically decline. For example:
• If you sell winter clothing, your sales typically decline in the summer.
• If your store specializes in stationery, the slowdown usually occurs after the start of school.
• Or if you sell gifts, demand may weaken after major holidays like Eid or Valentine's Day.
Analyze your monthly data and review past year's reports to determine exactly when orders decrease.
3. What are the smart solutions for dealing with a slowdown?
The most important thing is not to wait for a recession to hit you, but rather prepare for it with solutions such as:
1. Offer attractive offers.
Some customers stop buying because of prices. Try offering bundles, exclusive discounts, or free shipping for a limited time.
2. Reorganize products.
If you have old or slow-selling products, you can promote them differently or bundle them with a new product.
3. Focus on content.
Use the recession to improve product images, write new descriptions, or even produce videos demonstrating product use.
4. Run low-cost advertising campaigns.
Instead of stopping advertising, reduce your budget and focus on audiences that are truly interested.
For example, retarget previous visitors or customers who didn't complete their order.
5. Organize contests or engage on social media.
Stay on the customer's mind, even if they aren't buying now. Create simple challenges, giveaways, or ask your audience for their opinion on a particular product.
4. Work on preparing your store for the next season
Instead of experiencing the pressure of a recession, use this time to develop your business:
• Review your customer service strategy.
• Develop your order management or delivery system.
• Add new products for the upcoming season.
• Improve the design or user experience of your store.
This quiet period is the best time for development without any operational pressure or stress.
5. Connect with existing customers
Many merchants forget that their closest sales opportunity is their existing customers.
Send them personalized messages, offer them special discounts, or ask for their opinion on new products.
Your old customers can save you from a recession more than large campaigns.
6. Don't be afraid to experiment.
Some merchants experiment with adding a completely different product line during a recession. For example:
• A gift shop introduces stationery products.
• A winter clothing store adds sportswear.
• An organic food store adds recipes or health courses.
If the idea is well thought out and doesn't involve significant risk, why not?
Recessions are a natural part of business, but smart retailers are the ones who prepare for them and take advantage of them to develop their stores and prepare for the next season.
Don't wait for sales to recover; be proactive and start with a simple step today.
