Many people start an online store idea with enthusiasm, only to encounter responses like: "What exactly do you offer?" or "We don't understand your idea!" or "Many people are doing the same thing." This is where the frustrations begin.
But the problem isn't your idea. The problem is often the way you present it.
If you want people to be convinced by your store, you need to explain the idea in a way that demonstrates its value and its solution to a real problem. Let's explain it step by step:
1. Start with the problem before the solution.
Don't say: "I opened a store selling natural products."
Say: "Many people complain about chemical products and their effects on the skin, so I created a store that sells guaranteed natural products."
People identify with the problem before they even consider buying.
2. Keep the explanation simple, as if you were explaining it to a child.
Don't use technical words or complex marketing terms.
Say it simply: "My store offers 100% cotton children's clothing with fast delivery and reasonable prices."
The most important thing is to get the message across quickly.
3. Connect the idea to people's daily needs.
If your store sells kitchen organization tools, don't just say "organization products." Instead, say, "We all want an organized kitchen where we can easily find our things. Here, we offer solutions to help you with that."
4. Talk about what makes you stand out.
Are your prices lower? Do you offer higher quality? Faster delivery? Better support?
Identify one feature and focus on it. Don't try to be the best at everything.
5. Use a real-life story.
Stories build trust.
For example: "I started my store because I was tired of delayed orders at other stores, so I decided to provide a fast and organized experience, just like I had hoped for myself."
6. Be confident when speaking.
Even if your store is new, don't appear hesitant or say, "I hope you like it."
Speak confidently: "We're excited to make your shopping experience easier and faster. Come visit us and try it for yourself."
7. Record your idea in 30 seconds (Elevator Pitch)
Imagine you met someone and they asked you, "What do you do?"
You must respond with a clear sentence such as:
"I own an online store that provides innovative stationery for students and employees at reasonable prices and fast delivery within Saudi Arabia."
8. Have ready answers to frequently asked questions, such as:
• Why should I order from your store?
• How do I know you're not lying?
• Do you offer a warranty?
The more prepared you are, the more trust will be built in you.
A great idea isn't enough. You must be able to communicate it in a way that the person in front of you understands and trusts. The more direct, honest, and clear you are, the more people will be convinced and support you.
Always think:
"Do my words answer the question: As a customer, what do I gain from you?"
If you answer this clearly, you're on the right track.
