Most store owners focus heavily on the product page: images, description, price, and features.
But in reality, there's a second page that's considered the "winning card" in converting a visitor into a customer. Many overlook it, but it makes a huge difference in the purchasing decision.
This page is:
The "About Us" or "Get to Know Us" page.
Let's explain why it's important, what to include on it, and how you can make it an effective page that convinces customers to trust you and buy from you.
1. People Buy from People
In Saudi Arabia, customers care about knowing "who's behind the store."
Are you a trustworthy entity? Are you a well-known store? Is the store new?
The "About Us" page gives the visitor a first impression and answers an internal question: "Can I trust them?"
2. Building Trust Starts with Story
Your story as a seller, or the beginning of a business, is one of the most powerful elements of trust.
You don't need to write a long story, but even a couple of lines explaining why you started the project and your goal gives the customer a sense that you're serious and caring.
A simple example:
"We started our store in Riyadh, driven by our passion for providing high-quality products at reasonable prices. Our goal is to serve our customers in all regions of the Kingdom."
3. Explain your business model and what makes you unique.
The customer wants to know:
• Do you ship to all cities?
• When do orders arrive?
• Do you have a warranty or return policy?
• What sets you apart from others?
The "About Us" page is a great place to answer these questions indirectly.
4. Add photos and testimonials, if you have them.
If you have photos of your team, old invoices, or even reviews from previous customers, these all enhance your credibility.
Even writing, "We have served more than 500 customers across the Kingdom," gives a strong impression of trust.
5. What should your page look like?
• Don't be too formal.
• Stick to a friendly tone, relatable to the visitor.
• Use bullet points or short paragraphs.
• Include direct links to store policies or social media accounts, if desired.
6. Why the "About Us" page in particular?
Because if a visitor hesitates about making a purchase, they'll likely browse it.
If they don't find anything convincing or clear, they might leave the store altogether, even if they like the product.
This means you're losing customers not because of price, but because of a lack of trust.
The product page sells, but the "About Us" page convinces customers to trust and buy.
Pay attention to it. Keep it simple and clear, and make sure it reflects your store's identity and your personality as a merchant.
Especially in the Saudi market, people are looking for "security and trust," and the "About Us" page is the key.
